I am a conservative with libertarian sympathies. A while ago I “Liked” the Sarah Palin page on Facebook. I got a wide range of reactions and as you could guess some people were shocked and borderline outraged. Others were indifferent and some also '”liked” her. I was a bit taken back at the assumption that because I '”liked” her that meant I want her as my president. At the time I “liked” her she was not running for president, or vice president – that episode was over. I like a lot of people. Most of whom I do not want to be my president. I like people who share my values. The more values we share, often the more I like them. I also like people who do not share my values but who are decent people. If you are friendly, understanding, and helpful, I often like you.

Would I vote for Sarah Palin for President? I guess that depends on my choices. If she were running against Barbara Boxer then yes I would. Do I think either of them are the best of all possible choices for President of the US? No, but Sarah Palin shares more of my values than Barbara Boxer does. If it were Sarah Palin vs. Dennis Prager, I would go with Dennis Prager. For me it’s not about experience, it’s about values.
