I am excited to announce the release of an American Sage application for the new Windows Phone 7 (WP7). I have been hard at work creating an application which would allow people to keep up with American Sage and Congress while on the go.  This is version 1.0 of the application and should be in the Windows marketplace in the coming days. There are still a number of improvements to the application I want to make but I think this is a good start at making information more accessible to people. The goal of the application was to focus on information from this site and information for a person’s representatives. The goal of the application is not to expose every representative in Washington, but instead to expose information about those representatives you have control over. Other applications let you explore everyone in Washington, but a person really only has control over 3 people in congress, your representative from your district and your Senators. If we are going to start taking Washington back we need to focus on understanding the congressmen we have control over and understanding what they are dong.

It doesn’t matter what a congressmen in some other state is doing because you have no control over electing that person. The goal of the American Sage application is to help you focus on your congressmen. The application will help you find out who your congressmen are and what they have been up to. You can see basic information about them, recent news articles and statistical information. This will help you understand what they have been doing throughout the year, helping you to understanding if they have earned your vote when they come up for re-election.

This mobile application also lets you see what is going on in Washington by providing lists of recent bills updated or introduced in Washington, as well as Hot Bills in the press and you can also search for bills based on a keyword.

We have a Facebook discussion thread where feature requests and bugs can be reported. I will update the thread with new releases and what was added and fixed in each release. Please note that this is a free application. The application has no release cycle dates but I will try and provide updates as quickly as I can.
