For those of you who use our mobile application we are experiencing issues with one of our API vendors in collecting information on bills right now. We apologize for the inconvenient and we are working to have this corrected shortly.

Just a quick note today to remind people, especially those of using it, to go rate the American Sage Windows Phone 7 application. Version 2 has been released and adds some great new functionality. Ratings are really key to driving visibility and use of the application. I really believe this is a great application to help every understand what congress and their congressman are doing. Even if you believe our articles are biased the rest of the application cannot be. The data is pulled straight from what congress is doing.

Version 2 of the American Sage Windows Phone 7 application is on its way! This version has been updated with some great new features to start rounding out the capability of this application. You can now pin bills you care about most to a watchlist so you can track the status and progress of that bill.

You can also now click on any bill and get some more detailed information about it, like the sponsor, co-sponsors, latest action, and even read the full text of the bill.

With these features you can really monitor what you care about. Rather you find the bill from the recent bills list, hot bills list or search yourself by bill number or keyword. All these bills can be added to your watchlist and at any time you can click on it to see the latest action.

The interface for you congressman has also be updated. The congressmen’s ratings area has been updated so the stats are displayed in a graphical format.

One of the most exciting additions to the congressman area is videos. This area gives you a list of video’s the person has uploaded to their YouTube account (if they have one). With videos and the news area you have a great way to keep up on what your elected officials are doing.

We strongly believe that with this application and the new features you can really understand what congress and your elected officials are doing. By staying current on the news and video items you will have a firm understanding of what your people stand for and work for. When it comes election time you will not need to depend on misleading commercials or their own marketing material. You will know who they are and what they stand for.

We have a recently upgraded the site and changed the layout just a bit. The upgrade should make the site more stable and make a few things easier to do. We have upgraded the level of Facebook integration on the site as well. Hopefully this will make it easier for people to comment and share articles with friends. My goal is to start getting tools and content on the site faster. I have a few tools in the works now I have been focusing on.
